ustomers being turned off by an area that is uncomfortable or unattractive due to being poorly illuminated. One such example that comes to mind is commercial lighting installed in public places in rental properties. Property managers know that lighting has a direct impact on the comfort and safety of tenants, and by extension how long they stick around to pay rent.

Superior Lighting has outfitted and installed a number of locations with quality commercial lighting fixtures. We recommend LEDs for a number of reasons. For one thing, these bulbs are so efficient that they result in manageable bills for lights that must be constantly on, or at least on most of the time. Such lights include security lights in public spaces, or if you run a 24-hour store or restaurant, it may mean all of your lights. The lights in the lobby and hallways of hotels and motels have to look welcoming at all hours. With LED light bulbs, you can fulfill all these needs in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

The Efficiency of LED Lighting

Abundant statistics and research support the efficiency of LED lighting over incandescent and fluorescent bulbs. The numbers on this are also constantly improving as LED technology evolves and develops. When it comes to efficiency, LED lights out-perform incandescents in a number of ways. For one thing, LEDs are far more heat efficient than incandescents. Incandescents release 90% of their energy as heat, and CFLs release 80% of their energy as heat. LED bulbs do not give off very much heat at all.

This is an important fact to know because when commercial lights must be on at all times, or if you have an elaborate display featuring tons of lights, the heat they throw can make the environment extremely uncomfortable for you, your employees, and your customers. Commercial lighting displays are sometimes paired with decorative fabrics or other flammable materials that can be damaged or ignited with too much proximity to heat. For comfort and safety, it is better to use LEDs for commercial lighting.

Your monthly electric bill can also be slashed because LEDs use far less electricity to give off the same amount of light or more as their counterparts.
