High Pressure Sodium Light Bulbs (HPS bulbs) are an extremely efficient light source that produce an orange/yellow light. Please choose your wattage above and read important bulb information below.
When purchasing a replacement high pressure sodium bulb we recommend that you bring a bulb to the phone or computer (dont guess!) and match up the following:
1. Please check if your HPS bulb has medium socket or a mogul socket.
2. Double check your model number and wattages. You cannot change wattage without changing ballast.
3. HPS bulbs cannot be changed with bulbs of a different wattage or type.
4. Finally if you are unsure please do not hesitate to contact Superior Lighting by phone or email.

The high pressure sodium lamp series of HID lamps incorporates solid sodium, mercury and xenon or a neon/argon gas mixture within the arc tube. This combination of metals and gasses produces an orange-white light in the high-pressure version and a yellow light in the low-pressure model. Both lamps boast a luminous efficiency that is much greater than its mercury vapor or metal halide counterparts. Typical applications for high pressure sodium light bulbs are Street lighting, industrial hi-bay, parking lots, building flood lighting and general area lighting.
