Metal Post Fitter with Ceramic Socket - Fit Over 3" Diameter Post

This metal post fitter fits over a standard 3 inch post to hold your neckless globes in place. The black fitter includes the necessary clamps, springs and screws to lock a neckless globe with a 5.25 inch opening into place. The clamps are slipped into the globe opening and can then be tightened down by screws on the outside bottom of the fitter. The ceramic socket is a standard, (E26) medium base socket that can handle incandescent bulbs up to 150 watt and fluorescent CFL bulbs at least up to 85 watt.

This metal fitter is best used on lighting posts with high wattage bulbs because they include a ceramic socket that can better withstand the heat generated by high output bulbs. Many of our customers in windy areas have also reported that these metal fitters also do a better job of holding down both large bulbs and globes during windy season. Some of the big 8 inch and larger CFL bulbs tend to rattle in the plastic fitters and become unscrewed from the bases whereas this metal fitter does a better job of holding them in place.
